Romney - I'll Say Anything To Win
ROMNEY DEFENDS MLK MARCH REMARK
Romney says that it depends on what the definition of "saw" is.
A defensive Romney was peppered with questions today on exactly what he meant when he said -- most recently on Meet the Press -- that he "saw" his father march with Martin Luther King Jr. Recent articles have indicated that his father, the late Michigan Gov. George Romney, didn't march with the civil-rights leader.
Admitting that he didn't see the march with his own eyes, he said, "I 'saw' him in the figurative sense."
"The reference of seeing my father lead in civil rights," he said, "and seeing my father march with Martin Luther King is in the sense of this figurative awareness of and recognition of his leadership."
"I've tried to be as accurate as I can be," he continued, smiling firmly. "If you look at the literature or look at the dictionary, the term 'saw' includes being aware of -- in the sense I've described."
The questioning did not relent. "I'm an English literature major," he insisted at one point. "When we say I saw the Patriots win the World Series, it doesn't necessarily mean you were there."
Mitt’s so flustered by being caught with his pants down he’s got the Pats winning the World Series. Boy that’s the calm, cool and collected response to a stressful situation that I expect from a President, not. Boy only two weeks ago the Romney faithful were talking about the “I am a Mormon” speech as the greatest speech since Kennedy, I somehow don’t think it is going to go down in the history books quite that way.

What i find interesting is that you never mention when a Democrat Presidential Candidate mis-speaks.
Edwards in IA debate:
Edwards flubs his Better America speech. “We should leave America better than what we made it. Leave it better than how we found it. Whatever.”
Obama in August:
Obama also said he would call "the president of Canada" about trade matters. Actually, that nation doesn't have a president.
I am sure there are a bunch more from many candidates, both Dem and Rep. I just have better things to do than over-analyze every breath that every candidates ever takes.
Ok, first let's just first say this........if you read the blog (which it would appear you have), you can clearly identify that I have a less then "fair and balanced" view of the political parties at this time, so would you expect me to have these little shots at Edwards and Obama any more you would expect to see this Romney post on Malken or Hewitt?
As to the differences in this case, Edwards and Obama clearly misspoke, Romney told a tall tale and got caught. Yes I realize your comment is in regards to my shot about the Pats winning the WS and being calm, cool and collected, but I find Romney so disingenuous.
I truly am concerned for our country when I look at the current Republican field, I unlike a lot of folks do not for a second believe the Dems are a slam dunk in 2008 and any of these people as President scares me.
BTW - the tale gets even taller
Mitt Romney went a step further in a 1978 interview with the Boston Herald. Talking about the Mormon Church and racial discrimination, he said: "My father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit."
Yesterday, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom acknowledged that was not true. "Mitt Romney did not march with Martin Luther King," he said in an e-mail statement to the Globe.
