I am not sure which is worse, McCain’s confusion lie moment, or CBS’ blatant attempt to cover his ass.

Does this really surprise anyone?

GOP cyber-security expert suggests Diebold tampered with 2002 election

Spoonamore is one of the most prominent cyber-security experts in the country. He has appeared on CNN's Lou Dobbs and ABC's World News Tonight, and has security clearances from his work with the intelligence community and other government agencies, as well as the Department of Defense, and is one of the world’s leading authorities on hacking and cyber-espionage.

In 1995, Spoonamore received a civilian citation for his work with the Department of Defense. He was again recognized for his contributions in 2004 by the Department of Homeland Security. Spoonamore is also a registered Republican and until recently was advising the McCain campaign.

Spoonamore received the Diebold patch from a whistleblower close to the office of Cathy Cox, Georgia’s then-Secretary of State. In discussions with RAW STORY, the whistleblower -- who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation -- said that he became suspicious of Diebold's actions in Georgia for two reasons. The first red flag went up when the computer patch was installed in person by Diebold CEO Bob Urosevich, who flew in from Texas and applied it in just two counties, DeKalb and Fulton, both Democratic strongholds. The source states that Cox was not privy to these changes until after the election and that she became particularly concerned over the patch being installed in just those two counties.

The whistleblower said another flag went up when it became apparent that the patch installed by Urosevich had failed to fix a problem with the computer clock, which employees from Diebold and the Georgia Secretary of State’s office had been told the patch was designed specifically to address.

Think about it 80% of the vote in the country counted by one family……power breeds corruption, absolute power breeds absolute corruption.

The dementia/lying is apparently contagious.

So Carly you clearly have either caught John’s case of dementia, or your desire to secure a cabinet post or the VP slot has turned you into a liar.

From the folks` at thinkprogress.com

This morning on NBC’s Meet the Press, Carly Fiorina, surrogate for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), defended McCain’s record on Iraq. She insisted he had stood up to President Bush and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld repeatedly, and declared those who say McCain was “aligned” with Bush on Iraq are trying to “change history”:

John McCain stood up against George Bush and Don Rumsfeld in the prosecution of the Iraq war for many years. … To say that John McCain was aligned with President Bush on the prosecution of the war in Iraq is to change history.

It is Fiorina who is trying to change history. >From the very start, McCain has enthusiastically embraced Bush’s Iraq war policy:

“I think that Blix’s report will be fairly definitive. But Mr. Blix has made a lot of reports over the years, and I think the judgment made by the United States of America will — and the president of the United States — will prevail here.” [NBC, 2/12/03]

“I believe as strongly today as ever, the mission [in Iraq] was necessary, achievable and noble. For his determination to undertake it, and for his unflagging resolve to see it through to a just end, President Bush deserves not only our support, but our admiration.” [GOP Convention, 8/30/04]

“The fact is that I have agreed with President Bush far more than I have disagreed. And on the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I’ve been totally in agreement and support of President Bush.” [Meet the Press, 6/19/05]

MR. GREGORY: Do you, do you have confidence in the president and his national security team to lead the war at this stage?
SEN. McCain: I do. I do. I have confidence in the president and I believe that he is well aware of the severity of the situation. [Meet the Press, 8/20/06]

I’m sticking with the president in this respect [on Iraq]. This is our last chance. The consequences of failure are catastrophic.” [CNN, 2/13/07]

I am proud of this president’s strategy in Iraq.” [Receiving Bush’s endorsement, 2/13/08]

In fact, just four months ago, McCain declared unequivocally, “No one has supported President Bush on Iraq more than I have.”

John, having a little trouble keeping your stories straight?

MADDOW: The McCain campaign is claiming that the Steeler story is an honest mistake. One of many, it would seem. So our choices here appear to be a) Sen. McCain’s memory is so bad that he can no longer be counted on to remember much of anything; or b) he will say pretty much anything to be President, even pander on the very issue that’s supposed to define him: the years he spent in a prisoner of war camp. Which one of those options is politically palatable here?

WOLFF: …What we’re seeing here might be a memory problem, I somehow doubt it. I think this is a… another sign of the exploitation of this compelling story, this compelling piece of John McCain’s life story. And the problem is that the more you repeat this stuff-and where you repeat it in error and in excess-the less powerful that becomes. I mean, the reason in 2000 his aides said he wasn’t trying to talk about his life story-even when he was—was because they knew that it was somehow precious and to be brought out when he really needed it. The problem about bringing it out every time is that it’s no longer powerful.

Maddow gets it, I have been saying it for weeks, when will the Main Stream Media start talking about it, the man is a liar or suffering from dementia, which is it?

Way To Go George!!!

Teen Pregnancy Rate Hits 15-Year High

The teen pregnancy rate is up for the first time since 1991, while the percentage of teens who smoke has hit a 10-year low, according to a report released Friday by the National Institutes of Health.

Between 2005 and 2006, the number of teenage girls between the ages 15 to 17 having babies rose by more than 5,700 to 138,920, from a record low of 133,138, according to an annual report on the health and well-being of children and teens published by the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics.

The 4 percent increase in the teen pregnancy rate is cause for concern among health professionals.

“This is one of the key indicators for the health of the teen population,” said Edward Sondik, director of the National Center for Health Statistics, during a conference call with the media. “Not only does this affect teen health at this point, but their health and well-being for the next 20 to 40 years, and the health and well-being of their children.”

Seems all that money spent on those abstinence only programs is working out well.

The Evil Continues Unabated

EPA won't act on emissions this year

The Environmental Protection Agency plans to announce today that it will seek months of further public comment on the threat posed by global warming to human health and welfare -- a matter that federal climate experts and international scientists have repeatedly said should be urgently addressed.

The Supreme Court, in a decision 15 months ago that startled the government, ordered the EPA to decide whether human health and welfare are being harmed by greenhouse gas pollution from cars, power plants and other sources, or to provide a good explanation for not doing so. But the administration has opted to postpone action instead, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Washington Post.

To defer compliance with the Supreme Court's demand, the White House has walked a tortured policy path, editing its officials' congressional testimony, refusing to read documents prepared by career employees and approved by top appointees, requesting changes in computer models to lower estimates of the benefits of curbing carbon dioxide, and pushing narrowly drafted legislation on fuel-economy standards that officials said was meant to sap public interest in wider regulatory action.

Dick and “W” are just plain evil bastards who believe they are the law.

What a horses ass we have as "commader and thief"!

After rejecting global climate-change targets, George Bush's parting shot to the G8 summit

President George Bush signed off with a defiant farewell over his refusal to accept global climate change targets at his last G8 summit.

As he prepared to fly out from Japan, he told his fellow leaders: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

President Bush made the private joke in the summit's closing session, senior sources said yesterday. His remarks were taken as a two-fingered salute from the President from Texas who is wedded to the oil industry. He had given some ground at the summit by saying he would "seriously consider" a 50 per cent cut in carbon emissions by 2050.

The man is an absolute ass………….

So John which is it - more lies or senility?

From the daily KOS:

Yesterday John McCain did an interview with a Pittsburgh radio station and told a story about his time as a P.O.W. in Vietnam:

When I was first interrogated and really had to give some information because of the physical pressures that were on me, I named the starting lineup -- defensive line -- of the Pittsburgh Steelers as my squadron-mates.

Wow! The people of Pennsylvania and Steelers fans everywhere will eat that story up. Unless of course they’ve read John McCain’s book, Faith of My Fathers, and wonder how he could forget writing:

Pressed for more useful information, I gave the names of the Green Bay Packers' offensive line, and said they were members of my squadron.

Oh, that’s right were not supposed to talk about his age or his inability to keep his story straight.

The Man Is A Nut Job!

McCain's Latest Iran Joke
Sen. John McCain hasn't had good luck joking about Iran. But he tried it again Tuesday.

Responding to a question about a survey that shows increased exports to
Iran, mainly from cigarettes, McCain said, "Maybe thats a way of killing them."

He quickly caught himself, saying "I meant that as a joke" as his wife, Cindy, poked him in the back.

Last time, it was also Iran. His singing about bombing Iran to the theme of the Beach Boy' "Barbara Ann" drew derision from many quarters but a "lighten up" response from McCain.

What a putz………..this guy is so much more dangerous they even “W” and Dick

Evil Is As Evil Does!

The hits keep coming:

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all...

A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®. According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline
passengers.

This bracelet would:

• take the place of an airline boarding pass

• contain personal information about the traveler

• be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage

• shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes

So let’s take this in conjunction with the goof at the tops creative censoring of Thomas Jefferson this weekend to totally transpose the meaning of what Jefferson was writing for his own political purpose.

from bsalert.com

President Bush was at Monticello for a 4th of July celebration and he delivered an address. But it's quite telling that his speechwriters, in quoting Jefferson, cut out an anti-religious statement from a long and famous quote. Here's the way Bush put it:

Thomas Jefferson understood that these rights do not belong to Americans alone. They belong to all mankind. And he looked to the day when all people could secure them. On the 50th anniversary of America's independence, Thomas Jefferson passed away. But before leaving this world, he explained that the principles of the Declaration of Independence were universal. In one of the final letters of his life, he wrote, "May it be to the world, what I believe it will be -- to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all -- the Signal of arousing men to burst the chains, and to assume the blessings and security of self-government."

Now let's look at the full quote, including the part that was cut out...

This is from a letter he wrote to Roger Weightman reflecting on the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (which, it turns out, was the day both he and John Adams died):

May it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all,) the signal of arousing men to burst the chains under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings and security of self-government.

The evil of these people is so overt, and so ingrained in their every action that the public has just quit noticing as they slowly yet methodically destroy what this country was meant to be.

I didn't think these folks were capable of being embarrased

Sorry, Silvio: White House apologizes over gaffe

An embarrassed White House apologized on Tuesday for an "unfortunate mistake" — the distribution of less-than-flattering biography of Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi at the Group of Eight summit. Still, the gaffe led to headlines in Italy.

The summary of Berlusconi was buried in a thick tome of background that the White House distributed at the summit of major economic powers. The press kit was handed out to the White House traveling press corp.

The biography described Berlusconi as one of the "most controversial leaders in the history of a country known for government corruption and vice."

It was just last month that Berlusconi welcomed Bush to Rome, calling him a "a personal friend of mine and also a great friend of Italy." And Bush responded then: "You're right. We're good friends."

Oh the incompetence, it never stops. The real joke is the irony of Bush calling anyone corrupt

You Bet I Question his Integrity or Lack There Of!

Kerry did a great job of deflecting Bob Scheiffer’s baiting, Bob clearly had this planned. Well Damn It, John Kerry can’t say it but I will, Yes I question John McCain’s integrity, his honesty and his ethics or lack of all of these.

From crooksandliars:

Transcript below:

Sen. KERRY: …what almost every person in the Pentagon has admitted. I mean, Bob, you’re
smart, you’ve talked to these people in Washington. There are very few people who walk around
and say, `Going into Iraq was the right thing to do and we should’ve done it. I’d do it again if I
had the chance.’ John McCain does. John McCain believes this was the right decision.

SCHIEFFER: Well, let…

Sen. KERRY: He said, you know, you can’t–I have to tell you, Bob, I just came back from the
Middle East. I just met with the king of Saudi Arabia. I met with President Mubarak of Egypt. I
met with others. You know what they said to me? They said, `You, America, have served up to
Iran, Iraq on a platter.’ They are outraged by this sort of, you know, ineptitude of what has been
done by those who decided it was smart to go into Iraq.

SCHIEFFER: Let me just ask you one question here.

Sen. KERRY: And they have turned away–yeah.

SCHIEFFER: Before we–before–because we are going to talk about–are you now challenging
Senator McCain’s integrity?

Sen. KERRY: I’m challenging Senator McCain’s judgment, his judgment that says there’s no
violence history between Sunni and Shia. That’s wrong. His judgment that says this is going to
increase the stability of the Middle East. It hasn’t. It’s made it less stable. The judgment that says
this will, quote “This will be the best thing for America and the world in a long time.”

SCHIEFFER: All right.

Sen. KERRY: It’s the worst thing that we’ve done in a long time.

SCHIEFFER: All right.

Sen. KERRY: And he’s turned his eye away from Afghanistan and al-Qaeda and made America
less safe.

SCHIEFFER: All right.

Sen. KERRY: That’s dangerous for our country.

He Truly Is McSame

Ahhh! The irony of it all………..even in the same city that Bush’s goons removed folks for wearing t-shirts they didn’t like. Now this from McSame.

More McCain Of The Moment - So Which is it?

Face it folks, the man is one of two things, too old and feeble minded to be president or just flat out a liar. Anyone who questions his mental faculties is immediately attacked for bringing up “The Age Issue”, WTF he brought it up himself in 2000.

So if we have to rule out age and failing memory as the reason for the constant factual mistakes regarding his own record, we then can only conclude the man is a bold faced liar.

Think Progress gives us another example:

Yesterday, the Washington Times noted that McCain also claimed he supported the 1986 Immigration Reform Act, legislation long lambasted by conservatives as an “amnesty” bill:

[I]n 1986, we passed a law and said we would secure the borders and gave amnesty to a couple — three million people. I supported that legislation way back then.

In fact, McCain voted against this legislation. As the Times explained, McCain was a vocal opponent of this bill:

The Arizona Republic newspaper in 1986 reported that he had called the bill racist and quoted him as saying the bill’s requirements for employers to verify workers “would institutionalize discrimination.” He said employers would refuse to hire Hispanics to avoid running afoul of the law.

The Corruption Just Keeps Coming

Bush White House Pushed Grant for Former Staffer

Evangelical Group With the White House Connections Awarded $1.2 Million Grant.

A former top official in the White House's faith-based office was awarded a lucrative Department of Justice grant under pressure from two senior Bush administration appointees, according to current and former DOJ staff members and a review of internal DOJ documents and emails.

The $1.2 million grant was jointly awarded to a consulting firm run by Lisa Trevino Cummins who previously headed Hispanic outreach efforts for the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, and a California evangelical group, Victory Outreach. The grant was awarded over the strong objections of career DOJ staff who did not believe that Victory Outreach was qualified for the grant and that too great an amount of the funds was going to Cummins' consulting company instead of being spent on services for children.

Cummins' company, Urban Strategies LLC, was slated to get one third of the money for helping the self-described "evangelizing" Victory Outreach use the rest of the funds.

…………………….

The money was awarded by J. Robert Flores, the Administrator of the DOJ's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) who is under investigation by the DOJ's Inspector General after current and former employees said he awarded grants to programs with the right political and ideological connections. OJJDP grants are intended to address juvenile delinquency prevention and/or the juvenile justice system.

Questions about Flores' awarding of grants were raised earlier this month by ABC News on Nightline.

Cummins' application for the grant should have immediately "raised red flags," according to a senior Justice Department official. The official said that most of the grant money should be going to services, but that "in this case, you have a third of the money up front going to a consulting company," the official said.

These past 8 years will go down in history as the most corrupt ever,  just what do the 23% really see in this bunch of clowns?

OMG - What Is Wrong With These People?

White House Refused to Open Pollutants E-Mail

The White House in December refused to accept the Environmental Protection Agency’s conclusion that greenhouse gases are pollutants that must be controlled, telling agency officials that an e-mail message containing the document would not be opened, senior E.P.A. officials said last week.

The document, which ended up in e-mail limbo, without official status, was the E.P.A.’s answer to a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that required it to determine whether greenhouse gases represent a danger to health or the environment, the officials said.

…….

The new document, a road map laying out the issues involved in regulation, is to be signed by Stephen L. Johnson, the agency’s administrator, and published as early as Wednesday.

The derailment of the original E.P.A. report was first made known in March by Representative Henry A. Waxman, Democrat of California, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The refusal to open the e-mail has not been made public.

I am almost speechless at the insanity that daily comes from these people, they clearly have some delusion that they above the law. These last 6 months with this group of nut jobs in power is going to be painful, as they wreak havoc with our system of government that will take generations to repair!

He Just Can't Keep His Story Straight - More McCain Moments

From Dailykos

In an interview with Newsweek, John McCain tries to back away from his recent criticism of the media:

Q: Want to back up a little bit and talk about press coverage. One of the things that you mentioned in your speech in New Orleans was that you felt that the media hadn't recognized or had overlooked some of the attributes that Hillary Clinton had brought to the race. And I wondered—

MCCAIN: I did not [say that]—that was in prepared remarks, and I did not [say it]—I'm not in the business of commenting on the press and their coverage or not coverage...I can't change any of the coverage that I know of except to just campaign as hard as I can and try to seek the approval of the majority of my fellow citizens.

It is something that the American people will judge, and I won't complain about it and I won't praise it. I will just run my campaign and hope that the American people will make a judgment.

The problem is, he did say it (video from redlasso):

“Senator Clinton has earned great respect for her tenacity and courage. The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans and she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometimes receives. “

Oh, he'll complain about it. Then he'll just lie about it. The question is, will the media notice?

Is this really the Golden Rule?

Somehow I don't think the McCain Health Care Program would do a thing to stop things such as this from occuring.

When the Golden Rule Insurance Co. rejected her application for health coverage last year, Peggy Robertson was mystified.
"It made no sense," said Robertson, 39, who lives in Centennial, Colo. "I'm in perfect health."
She was turned down because she had given birth by Caesarean section. Having the operation once increases the odds that it will be performed again, and if she became pregnant and needed another Caesarean, Golden Rule did not want to pay for it. A letter from the company explained that if she had been sterilized after the Caesarean, or if she were over 40 and had given birth two or more years before applying, she might have qualified for coverage.
